Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes what you may and may not do when using Rovehost services, including our hosting infrastructure, CDN, backups, and related tools. It is incorporated by reference into the Rovehost Terms of Service.
By using our services, you agree to this AUP. Violations can result in suspension or termination of your account.
Prohibited Content
You may not host, store, transmit, or distribute any content that:
- Violates any applicable law or regulation, including laws governing copyright, defamation, privacy, and export controls.
- Infringes any intellectual property rights of a third party.
- Contains malware, spyware, ransomware, viruses, exploit kits, or any software designed to harm, hijack, or gain unauthorized access to systems.
- Is used for phishing, credential harvesting, social engineering, or any deceptive practice intended to defraud users.
- Constitutes child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexual content involving minors. We will report such content to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement.
- Promotes, facilitates, or glorifies violence, terrorism, or hate speech targeting individuals or groups based on protected characteristics.
- Violates the privacy of others, including publishing private personal information without consent (“doxxing”).
- Is illegal under the laws of the United States or the State of California.
Prohibited Conduct
You may not use our services to:
- Send unsolicited email (spam): bulk emailing, spam campaigns, or any messaging that violates the CAN-SPAM Act or similar laws.
- Network abuse: launching denial-of-service attacks (DoS/DDoS), port scanning other systems, or attempting to disrupt any network or service.
- Unauthorized access: attempting to gain access to systems, accounts, or data you do not have permission to access.
- Resource abuse: using your hosting account in ways that consume excessive CPU, memory, disk I/O, or bandwidth that degrade service for other customers. This includes running persistent background processes not related to serving web traffic.
- Cryptocurrency mining: mining cryptocurrency on our infrastructure without explicit prior written approval from Rovehost.
- Proxy and traffic manipulation: running open proxies, TOR exit nodes, or anonymization services on our infrastructure.
- Reselling without authorization: reselling or subletting your hosting account to others unless you are on a plan that explicitly permits it.
Resource Fair Use
Where plan descriptions use words like “unlimited” for storage or bandwidth, this refers to practical usage consistent with running a legitimate WordPress website — not unlimited in the absolute sense. We reserve the right to reach out to customers whose usage is materially out of proportion with normal site operation. We will always contact you first and work toward a solution before taking any action.
DMCA Copyright Policy
Rovehost responds to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.

To submit a valid takedown notice, include:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material and its location (URL).
- Your contact information (name, address, phone, email).
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
Counter-notices may be submitted following the same channel. We will restore removed content after 10–14 business days unless the notifying party files a court action.
We will terminate accounts of repeat infringers.
Reporting Abuse
If you believe a site hosted on Rovehost infrastructure is violating this AUP, please report it to [email protected] with as much detail as possible, including the URL and a description of the issue. We review all reports and take appropriate action.
Enforcement
When we identify or receive a report of a potential violation, our general approach is:
- Warning: we contact you to explain the issue and give you an opportunity to resolve it, usually within 24–48 hours.
- Suspension: if the issue is not resolved or is serious enough to pose immediate risk, we may suspend access to your account or specific content.
- Termination: persistent or severe violations result in permanent account termination.
For illegal content, imminent security threats (active malware, live phishing), or CSAM, we may act immediately without prior warning. We will always cooperate with law enforcement requests as required by law.
Appeals
If you believe your account was suspended or terminated in error, email [email protected] with “AUP Appeal” in the subject line. Include your account information and a clear explanation. We will review your appeal and respond within 5 business days.
