Rovehost (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a California S-Corporation that provides managed WordPress hosting and AI development services. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over it.

By using rovehost.com or purchasing our services, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using our site and contact us to close your account.

What We Collect

Information you give us directly

• Account information: your name, email address, and password when you sign up.
• Billing information: your payment details are collected and processed by Stripe or PayPal. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.
• Support communications: messages you send us by email or through our support system.
• Content you upload: WordPress files, databases, and any other data you store on your hosting account.

Information collected automatically

• Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps when you access our website.
• Analytics: We use Google Analytics via the Site Kit plugin to measure page-level traffic (which pages are visited, rough geographic region, device type). We do not run behavioral or cross-site tracking.
• Cookies: see the Cookies section below.

How We Use Your Information

• Provide, operate, and support your hosting account.
• Process payments and send invoices.
• Respond to your support requests.
• Send service-related notices (downtime alerts, billing reminders, policy updates).
• Improve our website and services based on aggregate usage patterns.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We will not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Cookies

We use two categories of cookies:

• Essential cookies: required for the site to function — things like login sessions and CSRF protection tokens. You cannot opt out of these while using the site.
• Analytics cookies: placed by Google Analytics to count visits and measure which pages are popular. These are not used for advertising. You can opt out by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser or installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

We do not use advertising cookies or any third-party behavioral tracking.

Third-Party Services We Use

Running a hosting business requires us to work with trusted vendors. Here is who processes data on our behalf:

• Cloudflare: provides our CDN, DDoS protection, and DNS. Your traffic passes through Cloudflare’s network. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
• Stripe and PayPal: process all payments. We pass your billing information to them; we do not store card details ourselves. See Stripe’s privacy policy and PayPal’s privacy policy.
• Google Workspace: we use Gmail and Google Meet for business communications. Customer support replies may be sent from a Google Workspace account. See Google Workspace privacy notice.
• Google Analytics / Site Kit: page-level traffic analytics on our marketing website. Data is processed by Google. See Google’s privacy policy.
• Hetzner: our hosting infrastructure runs on Hetzner VPS servers in their data centers. Your site data physically resides there. See Hetzner’s privacy policy.

We do not share your data with any other third parties except as required by law.

Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. After you cancel, we keep your account records for up to 90 days, then delete them. Backup snapshots of your hosted sites are retained according to your plan (7 days on Starter, 30 days on Growth, 60 days on Scale) and are permanently deleted when your account closes or when the retention window expires.

Payment transaction records may be retained longer as required by tax and accounting laws.

Your Rights

Regardless of where you live, you can contact us at any time to:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your account and associated personal data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.

GDPR (EU/UK residents): Our lawful basis for processing your data is contract performance (to provide services you’ve paid for) and legitimate interest (security, fraud prevention, service improvement). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

CCPA (California residents): We do not sell your personal information. You have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. To submit a request, email us at [email protected].

Children

Our services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

International Transfers

Rovehost is based in California, USA. If you are accessing our services from outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US. We rely on standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, Data Privacy Framework certifications with our service providers to ensure adequate protection.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on our website at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The date at the bottom of this page always reflects the most recent version.
